No, You're Not Dying

Hustle Culture, “Efficiency”, & Why We’re Throwing Away Our Phones

If ever there was a vent sesh episode, today's would be it.

We're kicking off a new, totally random segment called 'unfiltered thoughts', where we share our - you guessed it - unfiltered thoughts. We're talking emotional support shirts, laser tag, and packing tape. We have strong opinions on all 3 and so should you, tbh.

Then we're getting into the problems with production culture and why we feel pressure to be creating all of the time. Is it because things have gotten easier and we have constant access to the internet? Is it because numbers are the only thing that matter anymore? Is it because we've tried to 'MBA' our way through everything? Hm, maybe yes.

We talk about the shift to a quantity mindset, why we aren't able to keep up with the pace of an 'efficient' world, why making things easy is expensive, and what leads to creative burnout.

We also cover how no one knows how to use a map anymore, the irony of 'create more than you consume' when you're feeling uninspired, and how the clock app is ruining music (sry but it had to be said).
