No, You're Not Dying
Mother-daughter duo Beth (a PhD clinical psychologist) and Joyce (a chronic over-thinking millennial) love to sit and chat about finding balance in the never-ending ups and downs of life - so much so, that they turned it into a podcast.
Join them every week for a candid conversation about the many ways in which life impacts our mental health, how psychology can shift your perspective, and why even if you feel like you’re dying, you’re probably not. Kinda funny, never scripted, always honest - so join the conversation!

Real Friends Don't Only Call When They Need Something (Friend-ly Advice Pt. 3)
We're back with Part 3 of our Friend-ly Advice series!
Have you ever had a 'friend' that you genuinely care about who only contacts you when they want to brag about how amazing their life is, or use you for favors, your connections, caretaking, etc.? We have, and it's a real bummer.
So today, we're talking about how to recognize if you're in a one-sided friendship and whether it's worth trying to save. We cover why it can be hard to detach from this type of friend - even if it's loser energy to act this way, how self-esteem plays a role for both people in a transactional relationship and why you shouldn't overvalue one bad experience, and who really feels the loss when the friendship falls apart (we did actually fight about this lol).
We also chat about when to say something to your friend versus when to 'quiet exit', how to speak about your accomplishments without bragging, why being self-centered doesn't mean you're a diagnosed narcissist, and the ways your temperament impacts how you experience your friendships.
About Your Hosts:
