No, You're Not Dying
Mother-daughter duo Beth (a PhD clinical psychologist) and Joyce (a chronic over-thinking millennial) love to sit and chat about finding balance in the never-ending ups and downs of life - so much so, that they turned it into a podcast.
Join them every week for a candid conversation about the many ways in which life impacts our mental health, how psychology can shift your perspective, and why even if you feel like you’re dying, you’re probably not. Kinda funny, never scripted, always honest - so join the conversation!

No, You're Not Dying
The Balancing Act: Sharing Routines, Raising Kids, and Being a Working Parent
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Having kids and starting a family can be such an idealized experience: the fun! the adventure! the excitement! But it also is a full-time job with immense responsibility. Add maintaining and running a home, and the pressure on parents rises. Add a working parent (or two), and it increases ten-fold.
Inspired by the show All Her Fault, this week we're talking about how to balance raising kids while working and sharing responsibilities between partners. We dive into the different expectations placed on different parents, how to effectively communicate if things are feeling unequal, and why it's okay to need alone time - even from your kids.
We also discuss the double standards for working moms and dads, how incompetence gets unintentionally reinforced, what to do when you don't want to be the "manager" parent but struggle to give up control, and how to handle parental guilt (trust us, your kids don't remember as much as you think!)
