Are We Looking at Success the Wrong Way?

The way success gets talked about is always confusing: on one hand, we should have a big goal we're working towards and if that doesn't get achieved, then we've failed; on the other hand, success is really about the journey (not the destination), and it can exist in other ways - maintaining your values, having a strong work ethic, improving upon your skills and learning something new. So which is it? And can it be both?

This week, we're discussing what it really means to be successful, after watching an interview that entirely changed our perspectives. We talk about what we lose when we only focus on the "end result" as a metric of success, why goals that you're pursuing should be defined by you, and our own ways that we evaluate our successes.

We also chat about what happens when you take metrics out of the equation, how the industry you work in can define your mindset (and why it can be hard to reframe it), and why comparing ourselves to others can make us feel like failures - even when we're not.
